Peak Performance Motor Club came about by Arthur McMullan and Boo McCurry talking one night in the garage so in a few days time they set about the task of making enquires if anyone would be interested. The next problem was deciding on a name and as it was to be a memorial club they approached Isobel Peak, wife of the late Jimmy Peak for any suggestions and this is where the name came from. Isobel then set about designing the logo and then the membership forms were issued in order to get the club established in the 10th anniversary of Jimmy's death.
This is not a mini club but is open to all types of vehicles and we will welcome members both young and old. Everyone in the Club will have a say in order to keep it enjoyable and interesting. Therefore, the Club is to be a fun club doing autotests, sprints, trails, static shows (with side attractions), road runs locally/weekends.
The first meeting of the club was held on 12th November 2008 and Isobel Peak was made President with Arthur McMullan and Boo McCurry taking positions as Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. Monthly meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month in The Market House, The Square, Ballynahinch at 7.30pm. The Club is affiliated to MSA (Motor Sports Association) and ANICC (Association of Northern Ireland Car Clubs).
Members will be issued with membership cards each year which will be numbered in order that members can take part in competitons.
